About Nasolabial Fold Fillers
Nasolabial fold is the lines around the mouth that are accentuated when we smile or laugh. The forming of nasolabial fold is due to the natural processes of ageing. Dermal fillers are injected into the nasolabial fold region to gently lift up the lines and soften the appearance of the fold.
Who is this for?
Male and female who wishes to soften the appearance of the nasolabial fold to achieve a fresher and younger appearance.
When it is not suitable?
Most patients will be fine to undertake dermal fillers injection, however, in certain circumstances, dermal fillers are not recommended:
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- If there is active skin inflammation or infection in or near the areas
Avoid alcohol consumption before the treatment to prevent bruising.
No rubbing or massaging of the injected area for 24 hours after treatment.
No strenuous exercise and sauna for 24 hours after treatment.
Wait at least 24 hours after injection before consuming alcohol. Avoid spicy food and seafood.
Stay well hydrated by drinking water.
The duration of fillers last for will depend on the filler material used. The most commonly used filler material at Yuchi Medical is hyaluronic acid and can last 6-9 months.
The procedure may cause discomfort but it is not overly painful. An ice pack will be applied before the injections to ease the discomfort and pain.
The common side effects include bruising, redness, swelling, tenderness, and slight bleeding at the injected sites. These reactions are temporary and typically subside within a week.
